WHY I’M A THERAPIST
I came into this business by accident - almost literally!
I was a regular sufferer with severe back pain over a period of some ten years. It came and went, sometimes leaving me crippled with hip and leg cramps. It could take me 20 minutes to drag myself across the floor from my bed to the toilet during the night.
Over the years, I had seen a wide range of Osteopaths, Physiotherapists, and Chiropractors, with varying degrees of success. Eventually I was referred to a consultant surgeon, and underwent an operation to remove a disc and some bone from my back in 1987. Regrettably, I was one of the percentage of patients for whom the operation was not a success.
Ultimately I was advised that “I was on my own now“ and nothing more could be done for me, other than pain control with drugs or tens, and I would have to live with it!
I was unhappy with treatment that simply masked the symptoms, and embarked on the years of study that have led me to this method of therapy. The therapy has enabled me to gain relief from my own pain by managing the muscular tension behind it. I then went into professional training so that I could use the benefits of the technique to help others in a properly qualified and regulated manner.
My goal is to save others from having to face the trauma I have undergone myself.
